We had our baby!



Parker Sierra Stocke was born 12-18-08 @ 12:26 AM. She weighed 6 lbs 14 oz and was 19.75" long. Mom & baby are home & doing well.

I was in labor at home for about 4 hours, and wasn't sure if it was real labor or just contractions since I was having so many pre-labor contractions in the days before. My cousin started timing them on the phone with me and said I need to go to the hospital right away. They were 4 minutes apart. We called up a friend, and she came over to stay with Peyton. So bags are packed, and we're on our way to the hospital in the pouring down rain. It's a 40 minute drive. The contractions were getting stronger & closer together, so by the time we arrived, I was dilated to 2 cm. The nurse told me to walk for an hour and she'd check me again. After about 40 minutes, I was doubled over in pain and crying. She checked me again & I was 4 cm. She said, "Great! You get a room!" About 2 minutes later, I was in extreme pain and begging for an epidural. She was way too relaxed and said I needed to get in my room first. Ugh! They wheeled me to my room, I got on the delivery bed, and about 2 minutes later, a huge contraction came and my water broke as my body was trying to push Parker's head out. I was trying to hold her head in since there was no doctor and just 2 nurses prepping the room, but my body was pushing her out by itself. At this point, I'm screaming for the epideral and the 2 nurses got in a fight over whether or not I can have it. Meanwhile, Parker's head starts coming out, and when the nurse sees it, she says I need to push. I said, "What?!! Are you kidding me?!" She said, "No, you're going to have this baby right now! You can do it, Holly. The worst pain is over. I swear it doesn't get any worst. Now bear down and push!" Next thing I know, I'm pushing for 10 second intervals with barely any time to catch my breath. Thankfully, the doctor came in just in time. Keep in mind - I had no painkillers and felt everything! I've never screamed so much or felt so much pain in my life. Everything went so fast. I was at 4 cm, and then 12 minutes later, I was pushing her out. I felt amazing afterwards though. Talk about an endorphin high! I held Parker, and then when they took her to clean her up, I got up, took a shower, and put my regular clothes back on. I was ready to go! Didn't even bust a sweat! The nurses were laughing in amazement.

My mom flew in on Saturday, right when I got out of the hospital, and she did an AMAZING job taking care of all of us. She was here for 4 days, cooking, cleaning, shopping & babysitting. Her help was priceless.

I can't believe it's already been 10 days since Parker was born. The days are flying by. It's been a mix of happiness and sickness around here. Peyton had bronchitis and got me sick while I was in the hospital. That made for a miserable few days. I was coughing everywhere. Now Parker is sick with the same sinus infection & cough, but the doctor says she can't have any medicine. I'm going to have to be a hermit for about 6 weeks until her immune system builds up.

Peyton has been very good with her, and so far we don't see any jealousy. Peyton wants to wear diapers again and says she wants to be a baby, but I hear that's pretty normal in this situation. She's also very clingy, but gets that way any time there is a change.

We had a great Christmas. Peyton LOVES all her new toys, puzzles, books, & paints. Her favorite is The Littlest Pet Shop toys. She has a whole village of them in her playroom and plays with them for hours every day.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

I didn't get a chance to share my last 4 photoshoots before my old Dell crashed. Our baby is due in 2 weeks, and now I have a project on my hands getting this new computer up & running. With the baby coming any day and me taking some time off to relax and bring this new life into the world, I will have to say, see you all next year!

I'll leave you with a few shots of our family from this week. I'm so happy we managed to take some photos before the big day. Bye-bye belly... I'll miss you!

PREGNANCY UPDATE

Only 3 weeks until my due date, and there's no way I'll make it that far. I'm having lots of contractions, and though they are not in a rhythm yet, I can feel my body getting ready for labor. So I'll be disappearing for a little while... until I have had the baby and am somewhat recovered. Please keep us in your prayers for a safe delivery and a healthy baby!

MATERNITY LEAVE

I am due to have a baby in 3 weeks, so I will be taking a brief maternity leave for the rest of Dec & all of Jan. So between now & then, I just have a few modeling sessions to do, which I will share on here, and then all I want to do is get to know my new baby. I'll be sharing some of those photos as well, so check back in a few weeks!

This is so hard... I have too many favorites from this session to choose what to share. We started the session out before Thanksgiving, but got rained out, so had to finish the session this week. Here are just a few of my favs.

I had the pleasure of photographing this gorgeous family. Their baby girl has the biggest blue eyes and was so adorable as she stood there all wobbly with mommy and daddy holding her hands.

ONLY 34 DAYS TO GO!

Yes, only 34 days to go. I can't believe how fast this pregnancy has flown by.
Guess it's time to start preparing for our new baby girl!

We did Christmas pics today, and here's my favorite shot of the belly. It's just a cute little basketball this time around, and I think I'll miss it when it's gone. It will be REALLY nice to wear my regular clothes again though. :-)

I am so excited for my friend, Alison. Her boutique, Charlee Kat*z, has been getting some amazing press coverage and reviews. She recently was invited to showcase her crochet chenille hats and scarves at Fashion Week in NY. Stacy London from TLC's What Not To Wear approves of her designs, so I hope Alison is ready to crochet her little fingers off! Here is Alison & Stacy London at the show... you go girl!

PETS

This is our dog, Jake. He's had a load of health problems this year, so this is the best he's looked in months. After a couple surgeries, he's been shaved here and there, and his coat has been a mess. Sure is nice to see him feeling better and see his fur growing back in so he looks like our healthy, happy Jakey again. This is one of the shots I took of him today. Isn't he handsome?

WALLACE NEWBORN

Remember the beautiful pregnant mom I photographed last month? Well, out of that little belly came this adorable baby boy! Congrats Wallace family! He is absolutely perfect!

Park Avenue is named after our little baby girl, due next month. Her name is Parker, but I call her Miss Park Avenue, assuming she will be a priss just like her big sister, Peyton. Now both girls have a business named after them. :)

YEAGER TODDLER

I just photographed a natural supermodel! Miss T is only 15 months, never been in a professional shoot before, but OMG, she knew exactly what to do! One minute she was oo-ing and awe-ing over the bubbles mom was blowing, and then she'd look right into my camera lense, pause, do a little head tilt, and smile. Amazing! It was such a pleasure photographing her and hanging out with her cool mama!
