My dear friend, Tanya Craft, is an amazing makeup artist. Her skills go beyond makeup and she is a licensed esthetician as well. I call her a master of the skin and beauty. SLINGBABIES

Another proud mama and her little bambino. This is Susan and Benny. Susan is passionate about baby wearing and started up Slingbabies to share her expertise with the rest of us. She is a great resource for how to get the most out of your carrier and has taught Baby Wearing 101 locally at Jadabugs in Indio.

I had this vision of a white, flowing sling, and knew she was the best person to design and make it for me. I have one word... C-U-T-E!!! Mia was such a sweetheart to work with.

Here's a tip for getting your toddler to perform for pics. PLAY with your child before picking up your camera. Dance, sing, blow bubbles, play ring around the rosies, ect. In the midst of the fun, pick up your camera and start shooting, but never stop engaging your child, and most of all, HAVE FUN!

MOTHERS

If you're anything like me, you have zillion pictures of your kids, but not many of you with the kids. As a mom, you are running around ragged most of the time and feel like you don't look your best, so you avoid the camera at all cost! You know what though, your children will cherish a photo because of the emotion they see in the picture and not how your hair looked that day. When you are 60, you will look back at your photos and think, "I look so young," and never think, "I should have put makeup on that day." So don't forget to take pictures with your kids. They'll cherish those photos forever.

On that note... a perfect looking mom and daughter from last week. It is nice to have professional portraits as well, ha!

NEWBORN JULIANA

I have so many priceless photos to share from this newborn session! I can't wait to get the time to sit down and work on the photo editing. I had to get a couple shots edited for their birth announcements right away, so here are those... more to come later!

MILLER FAMILY

Sunday morning we were up bright and early to spend some time at the Miller residence. With 3 sweet girls all dressed alike and parents and grandma in white, they captured the essence of their beautiful estate and timeless beauty.

Where have I been? Spending more time behind the lens of my Canon & less time in the bow studio. My daughter Peyton is now 3.5 yrs and is enjoying modeling more than ever. I think because she understands that she is creating a "shot" with every pose that she gets a thrill out of it. She no longer lets me coach her... miss independent knows what she's doing, ha!

It's been 2 years since we started modeling on ebay. I remember the days of chasing her around with the camera and being terrified that she would fall down and get the outfit dirty... the days of the mid photoshoot meltdowns and pushing my stroller around the park loaded up with props, snacks, and clothing... boy, we've come a long way, baby!

Now you can visit us at parkavemodeling.com. We have 4 little models that I work with, including Miss Peyton. As soon as my 3 month old, Miss Parker, gets a little older, she'll be available for modeling as well.

So I may make bows to match the outfits we model or participate in a group launch for my design group Anthology Inc., but the days of cranking out massive bow orders are gone. I couldn't be happier to be moving on to photography... this is more "me" than bows ever were.

I'll keep up this blog to share some of our latest modeling and the ocassional matchy-match hair accessory. My accessories will be available direct through email or listed on ebay or etsy. They are all one-of-a-kind, so if you see something you like, let me know right away!
